Naang Boots are meant to be worn hard. We like to say they are adventure ready, and that idea has been part of the brand from the beginning.

The first prototypes for the Dante were designed for, and tested on, a long-distance motorcycle trip through Asia. Since then, I have personally tested our boots on all kinds of trips. Riding motorcycles, hiking trails, walking through cities, and generally putting them into situations where a boot needs to do its job.

Adventure is at the core of what we do. Every pair we make is designed to be worn hard, beaten up, and taken somewhere interesting.

That is why I was especially happy to kit out my friend Harry from the YouTube channel WeHateTheCold with a pair of Winnfields for his latest adventure into the jungles of Papua New Guinea.

Harry is traveling solo, so he needs a pair of boots he can rely on. We got him covered.

I have known Harry since his early days exploring abandoned military sites around Asia. After exchanging some messages online, we met for coffee and ended up spending the afternoon talking about trips we had taken, trip we wanted to take, places we wanted to see, and bucket-list adventures. We also drank far too much coffee for as late in the day as it was.

A lasting friendship came out of it tho.

About a year later, Harry set off on an ambitious trip to ride a Honda CT125 from Thailand all the way to the UK. That journey eventually took him through Nepal, where a detour turned into another chapter in the trip, and ended up changing the direction of his life.

I still remember talking with Harry in the days following the Gen-Z Protests there. We went through early edits of his videos while he filled me in on what was happening around him. As the situation developed, his videos documenting the protests began stacking up tens of millions of views.

Eventually, Harry completed the journey, finished the film, screened it at some great film festivals, and started planning the next adventure.

That brings us to Papua New Guinea.

Originally, I planned to ship his Winnfields to the UK. Harry decided he wanted to stop through Thailand and catch up before heading out, so he arranged his flights with a layover in Bangkok.

He only had a few hours in the city, but it gave us enough time to catch up over coffee and, more importantly, for me to hand him his boots in person before he headed off.

The early reports from the field are good. Harry says he loves the Winnfields, and they are breaking in nicely.

Of course, it is still early in the expedition. Papua New Guinea should give the boots a considerably tougher test before this trip is over.

That is exactly what they were made for.

You can follow Harry’s journey on his YouTube channel, WeHateTheCold, or on his Instagram Profile by the same name for more frequent updates from the road.
