Allan’s 20-Year Obsession

Let’s be real: in a world full of disposable fast fashion and boots held together by prayers and cheap glue, Allan is an anomaly. He didn’t just wake up and decide to make boots because it looked cool on Instagram. He’s spent over 20 years in the trenches of bespoke shoemaking, crafting high-end footwear at a level most heritage brands can’t even fathom. We’re talking old-world techniques that require actual soul, not just a factory setting.

Allan brings that same obsessive-compulsive level of detail to every pair of Naang Boots. We’re talking:

Hand-Welted Grit: No shortcuts. Every single stitch is tensioned by hand to ensure your boots don't give up before you do.

Zero Synthetic Garbage: If it’s not real, it’s not here. We ditch the plastic components for materials that actually breathe, age, and survive.

Meticulous AF: Allan checks every step of the build process. If it isn’t perfect, it doesn’t leave the workshop.

dana looked at the barefoot and minimalist shoe movement and loved the logic, the foot health, the function, the anatomical common sense. But he absolutely hated the execution. He saw flimsy, factory-made trainers destined for a landfill the second a seam burst or the sole wore thin.

Why not the freedom of a functional shoe with the bulletproof soul of a heritage boot?

At Naang, we don't do good enough. dana treats design as a collaborative, iterative grind. It’s a constant loop of building, testing, breaking, and refining. We don’t ship it until it’s right.

That means each new design gets run through the gauntlet by dana. Each prototype, hits the road on a motorcycle, the jungle trails, and the city streets. Then it’s back to the drawing board to make improvements until it’s right.
