Naang Boots: Born From the Ground Up

At Naang Boots, we don’t just make boots — we build gear for the kind of people who actually use them. Every pair is handmade with premium materials, obsessive attention to detail, and a level of craftsmanship that’s getting harder to find these days. But Naang didn’t start in a workshop. It started on the road. On the trail. In the mud, on the mountain, and under the weight of long days on the job.

For as long as I can remember, boots have been the one piece of gear that never let me down — or, when they did, I remembered it. Hiking, mountaineering, camping, motorcycling... all better done in the right boot. I spent years figuring out what that meant — what kind of sole made sense, how a boot needed to break in, how it had to hold up when things got rough.

Some of that came from experience. A lot came from trial and error.

“As a technician and later an engineer, I spent my days climbing towers, gaffing poles, and navigating urban rooftops in every kind of weather. Boots weren’t just footwear — they were a tool.”

Boots were part of my work life too. My first job in high school was at a silkscreening shop — no boots, no stepping near the press. In the army, I polished them daily and wore them everywhere. As a technician and later an engineer, I spent my days climbing towers, gaffing poles, and navigating urban rooftops in every kind of weather. Boots weren’t just footwear — they were a tool. And like any good tool, the right one made all the difference.

Over the years, I started taking notes. What worked. What failed. What I wished existed but couldn’t find. When I moved from engineering into more design-focused work, those notes turned into sketches. Ideas. Concepts. The blueprint for the kind of boot I always wanted but rarely found.

Then I met Allan — a master shoemaker with decades of experience and a brain full of old-world knowledge. Where I brought function and field experience, he brought craftsmanship and finesse. We hit it off instantly. Naang Boots was born from that collaboration — part design lab, part old-school boot shop, all about making boots with purpose.

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s a lifetime of experience stitched into every pair.

Design with Purpose, Built to Last

At Naang, we design boots the way people used to build machines — with the intention that they’ll be used, abused, maintained, and rebuilt. This isn’t about chasing trends or mass-producing something that looks cool for a season. Our boots are made to go the distance — and then go a little farther.

That starts with craftsmanship. Every pair is handmade by skilled makers using traditional techniques that have stood the test of time. We use full-grain leathers, solid brass hardware, leather shanks, and 360-degree storm welts — not because it’s trendy, but because those materials perform. They age beautifully, they hold up under pressure, and most importantly, they can be repaired.

In a world built for planned obsolescence, we’re building something else: boots that are rebuildable. The kind you resole after ten years of wear, not toss in the trash after ten months. Boots that travel with you — that become a part of your story. Every scuff, scratch, and scar adds character, not weakness.

We believe the best boots aren’t throwaway gear. They’re tools. Companions. Legacy pieces. And that’s how we design them — with purpose in every stitch.

The Road Ahead

Naang Boots was born from a lifetime of walking in other people’s boots — military boots, work boots, hiking boots, motorcycle boots. Some great, some garbage. Every pair taught us something. Now we’re putting that experience into the boots we build today.

We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. We’re bringing back what made boots great in the first place: quality materials, thoughtful design, and a commitment to making things that last. Whether you're out riding, climbing peaks, or just want something that looks damn good with a pair of jeans — we got you.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned.
